  "Physics." A word which certainly has been haunting many students all around the world like a ghost, inciting fear in their heart whenever they hear that word. It's also one of the most hated things in many schools together with math. How in the world does it happen? What has this "physics" done that it becomes hated across the world?  What is "physics" actually? Does it have something to do with physical things, perhaps? With the physical world?  ... ... ... The answer is: "Yes, it does." Physics is (as far as the writer knows and understands)  a branch of natural science concerning physical matters and their behaviors. Making Sense of Algebra: The Basic Concepts [OLD VER]

 Before you start to read this, I need you to pretend like you don't know everything about algebra, EVEN IF you do know it. Imagine you want to buy something which costs $5 at a store. However, you then realize that you only have $2 in your pocket. How much the extra money do you have to bring when you go back to the store later? When we work in math, we can write it as an equation, something like $2 + extra money = $5 Now, to ease our calculation, symbolize the extra money with a letter, say \(x\) and remove the dollar sign, since our calculation involves USD and USD and produces a result in USD, so we can just write the dollar sign at the final answer. $$ 2+x=5 $$ You realize, to get a $5 stuff, the money you currently have, which is $2, added together with the extra money you'll take must be $5. Differentiation is one of two major concepts in calculus, besides integration. Differentiation is the process of finding a derivative of a function. The term derivative itself refers to an expression that describes the instantaneous rate of change of a function with respect to a variable. Confused? Don't worry. I'll not be angry at you just because you're confused. Being confused is normal in the process of learning, especially when it's the first time you hear a term new to you. We'll take a gradual approach to understand it. Now, before we dig deeper, we should understand other concepts involved in differentiation.  Pre-understanding Change When you hear the term change , what's in your mind? What does change mean?
